I am getting a betta, couple red wag platies and and a couple albino corydoras. Are they good quality from petsmart or petco? Petco seems to have better fish choices, while Petsmart sticks with the bread and butter species.

Petsmart also pushes their cheap branded aquariums over selling other manufacturers' aquariums. In short, I like Petco better. I've heard lots of bad fish stories concerning PetCo and PetSmart. What is the average condition of the fish that you've gotten from PetCo or PetSmart?

First, PetSmart and other chains stores are there to sell and make money. They are not the ones to listen too. They are both males, should never be housed together or as a pair. They likely are adults, at least 5 years or probably more The enclosures they sell is too small for adult Russians. They need a minimum of a 4x8 foot enclosure.
